Klingon Guest Star: Brian Babylon

On the night of December 14th, Edgewater will be invaded by Bronzeville: The Prince of Bronzeville, that is.  Stand-up comedian and radio host Brian Babylon will be joining the cast of A Klingon Christmas Carol that evening on stage.  He will be appearing in a special role as a Klingon at veSIwIq’s (Fezziwig’s) party.

“Brian has been a huge supporter of the show since we first brought it to Chicago,” reported Commedia Beauregard Artistic Director Christopher Kidder-Mostrom.  “He’s going to be a great Klingon warrior!”

Babylon is the first of the 2012 guest stars to be announced.  He will don ridges and speak in tlhIngan Hol, the language of Star Trek‘s Klingon race.

Babylon has been garnering national attention with his stand-up comedy act and through his appearances on the panel of Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! the NPR news quiz on National Public Radio (produced by Chicago’s own WBEZ).  Brian also helps Chicagoans get their morning started right on WBEZ’s sister station Vocalo.org (89.5 FM) every Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m.

Commedia Beauregard is a non-profit theatre company that produces theatre in Chicago and Minneapolis/Saint Paul. The company is dedicated to producing theatre in translation. This often means works form one language into another. However, the company does explore what it means to translate, as well. Commedia Beauregard has been making theatre since 1999. It relocated its permanent base of operations to Chicago in 2011. [an error occurred while processing the directive]
